On July 10th ThrivePointe Academy Charter High School held an Open House at their new campus on Meadows Lane and invited Stop Road Crashes to set up an information table to spread the word about Traffic Safety and Pedestrian fatalities.
Shawn and Hal Goldblatt, with the help of Perle and Kyle McNicoll-Goldblatt manned the table for the 2-hour open house. We were able to speak to approximately 50 parents and teens about staying alert, paying attention and not ever driving impaired. Many parents shared some of their frustrations and experience while driving and their worry for their children while they are driving, riding a bike and walking.
We received lots of positive feedback and several people signed up for our mailing list. The students really loved the various gifts we gave out such as slap bracelets, pens, squeeze balls and other fun, useful items like lip balm and cooling towels.
ThrivePointe Academy has invited us back to speak about traffic safety at future events so we can continue to keep the message fresh for the students, faculty and parents.
We hope to continue to have these kind of information tables at different places throughout Las Vegas many times in the future and are looking forward to talking with many people about what they can do to help save lives on our city’s roads.
